Greetings from Michigan

We've been at my sister's house for a couple of weeks now. Her and her husband have a large piece of property out in the country, with lots of trees and grass. We decided to layover here for awhile so my sister and I could have a long visit, which we haven't done since she left California in 1967. I also flew to San Diego for 10 days to visit with my girls. Walt's been playing a lot of golf lately. There's several courses nearby, and the prices are cheap, so he's been in heaven! We'll be leaving next week to head for Pennyslvania and the Little League Playoffs at Williamsport. From there, we'll head to the New England states to see the fall colors.

One of the best places we've visited in Michigan is Mackinac Island. I've dreamed of going ever since one of my favorite movies, Somewhere in Time, was filmed there in 1980. We took the ferry over, and spent the whole day. It was beautiful, as you can see from the pictures below. We took a carriage ride around the island, and a walking tour of the Grand Hotel, ending up in the Cupola Bar at the top of the hotel, where we enjoyed a late lunch and a spectacular view.

We would love to hear from all of you that read this. Although life on the road is wonderful, we miss our family and friends so much. Nothing can take your place.

Carol
